Testimonials
Honest Opinions from Those We Serve
Just a note to say how grateful I am for the New Beginnings program. It's really a lifesaver. Like so many others, I found the program after my world seemed to fall apart. After learning that my husband of more than 20 years was having an affair, I was totally devastated. I slipped into a depression. I was so distraught, but worst of all, I was embarrassed and reluctant to confide in my friends. Who knows, maybe my husband and I would work the situation out. My best friend, my husband, was my betrayer. My kids and my mother and a few sisters were the only ones I could share my pain with, until about six months after my husband moved out, I started to attend New Beginnings. Feeling shaky and nervous and on the verge of tears, I entered your church, was greeted by a lovely member and from that point my healing began. It was okay to cry. Others had suffered similar losses. It was indescribably comforting to know I was not alone.

The benefits I found at New Beginnings: 1. Fellowship, uniting and bonding with your fellow men and women from the community. Connecting with people who have similar problems. | 2. A place, a “home” where you feel welcome. | 3. A place to learn and grow. | 4. Experience self improvement. | 5. Meeting new friends. | 6. A place to share your talents and strengths ( volunteering). | 7. Something good to do in a place where there is no smoke or alcohol. | 8. Different levels of groups : Levels 1,2,3 and seasoned singles. | 9. Social events and pot luck supers. | 10. A place to get to know ourselves better and others. Thank you New Beginnings !

New Beginnings meetings on Monday evenings has helped me realize that there is truly a light at the end of this long dark tunnel. I have met wonderful people who helped me get through a very bitter divorce from a marriage of 25 years without judging me and nothing but compassion and encouragement.

New Beginnings is a wonderful program. A safe, nurturing environment. A place where you can come to heal and begin a new life as a single person without having to feel embarrassed or ashamed. There’s a lot of giving of spirit and time. It’s a place where you can feel good about yourself and life. A wonderful opportunity to meet new people who are kind, generous and caring. I am grateful I had the courage to come and stay. It has definitely enhanced my life and made me feel stronger and able to give back to others.

New Beginnings has been an integral part of my life for the past two years after making the decision to end a difficult and destructive marriage of 34 years. I was lost and alone. I did not know where to turn for help and comfort. A counselor told me of the program and I placed a nervous phone call. What I found here has literally given me a new life. I have been able to deal with the sorrow and to move on to the joys of life once again. Please believe me when I say that this outreach program is one of God’s blessings. New Beginnings offers a safe haven for those of us tossed on the sea of broken relationships. Thank you most sincerely
